Lake Como Trek organizes individual self-guided treks around Lake Como. You can walk with a light backpack while we take care of your heavy luggage, carry it to the next stop and assist you throughout the journey. Nevertheless, if you prefer, you can self-manage the entire route, carrying your own luggage or you can choose to be accompanied by an experienced guide. Thanks to an off-line application for smart phones that does not require a phone line or an internet connection, you can walk safely, without the fear of getting lost . Apple app store and Google play store      It is possible to have paper material with detailed descriptions and route maps. Trails are suitable for all walkers. You can walk only a few hours a day and enjoy visiting charming villages, swimming in the lake and visiting the most famous villas. On the contrary you can choose to walk 6 or 8 hours a day. The organization will take care of everything for you and will customize the itinerary. It's always possible to add additional days to your holidays at the beginning or at the end of the journey. Just think that Milan is only 35 minutes by train! Upon confirmation of the trip we will give you names and contact details of the places where you will stay.
At each stop you will have to pay for the accommodation. When booking, you will have to pay for the transport, extras and technical organization.
You will stay in different kinds of accommodation: some are luxurious, others more basic. There are usually double en suite rooms. Depending on the area and the number of people you could also sleep in single, triple or quadruple bedrooms.

You will need layered and waterproof clothing (a sort of cagoule is enough), trekking boots or walking shoes that allow you to move easily over rough ground. Take a backpack with a water-bottle, a torch, a multipurpose knife, your smart phone or tablet. You can put whatever you want in your suitcase, we will bring it for you! When I travel by plane I personally bring only light luggage; when I get to my destination I buy a bag and I fill it with everything I need: shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, food, water, batteries, slippers etc. When the journey is over I leave the bag behind.
We can organize dinners for you at the chosen accommodation or you can arrange dinners by yourself, as you prefer. If you want you can ask for a packed lunch for the next day. During the trek you can always find shops or facilities for lunch. You can choose whether to walk by yourself or have a guide. The recommended link for weather forecasts is meteosvizzera
Some suggestions: DO NOT COME IN SUMMER !! We are all very busy, prices are high and it's hot! From September till December you will find good temperatures and beautiful environments, woods turn red and restaurants offer mushrooms, truffles, chestnuts, different kinds of cheese and game meat. Even spring, from March to May, offers the beauty of nature’s awakening with its stunning landscapes.
HAVE A LOOK AT THE SECTION WINTER: from December until March, it is often the driest season of the year. It's true, you can ski in the mountains and there is snow but look at the pictures carefully: you can walk around the lake in light clothing. You can get up late, then walk for 3/5 hours in the middle of the day and then relax and have dinner in good restaurants. The suggested routes are our Sunday walks, beautiful and relaxing. Have a look at the weather forecast, wait for steady high pressure and book your low cost flight!

IF YOU HAVE SOME EXTRA DAYS…. The Grand Trek of the lake is challenging but other routes can be, too. Having a few free days, without a fixed program, is not a waste of time! Every village and every town has something interesting to offer. And then ... do you know that around Lake Como there are two UNESCO World Heritage sites?

THE BEST VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY? Hire a boat for some hours and go sailing: you can enjoy  our beautiful lake, its villas and the landscape from a different, amazing perspective. An experience you will never forget!
